This is an initiative of Journalism Mentor.
Journalism Mentor is a one year mentorship based programme to teach students serious about Journalism.
From the very process of selecting and admitting the students in the one year course, to the teaching methods and the industry intensive approach to make the student a well-rounded ethical journalist, JM is that and more.

As part of their Research and Reporting exercise, Journalism Mentor students were instrumental in bringing out a book (26/11 Eighteen) dedicated to the men in unfirom who laid down their lives during the Mumbai Terror attacks.
The book was released on the first anniversary of the Terror attacks by India’s Home Minister, Dr P Chidambaram.

The study tour is one more such learning curve.

Students of the 2009-2010 batch visited Vidarbha in Maharastra. to understand and report on conflicts in the region.
The Man-Tiger conflict in Tadoba, in Chandrapur District, the Naxal-State conflict in Gadchiroli district bordering Andhra Pradesh or, a raging political conflict for a separate statehood in Vidarbha, were just some of the focus areas during the twelve day visit in February 2010.
Students also studied developmental projects such as Shodhgram, a neo-natal child care project by doctor couple Rani and Abhay Bang, in Chandrapur, met up with Dr Prakash Amte who has been bravely running a school for tribal children (and an orphanage for wild animals) in naxal infested Gadchiroli district’s Hemalkasa area.
There is more. Much more. Some of the experiences you will find through stories and photo essays from students, which appear here. We would be keen to hear from you. Please do write in with your feedback.
